I’m going to take one or two classes at Quad C next semester, and after that… It’s back to school for good. But back to school means away from Texas. Turns out Dallas just isn’t far enough away. I need to really escape. Georgia, Colorado, and North Carolina are at the top of my list for now. I figure I’ll take one class at a time the first two semesters and after that I’ll have established residency and it will be a lot cheaper for me to finish up.
Don’t ask me what I’m going to be finishing. I still don’t know. But I need to do something. One of the classes I’ll definitely be taking at Quad C is Intro to Sports Management. I’m not sure what else I want to take. An art class, maybe, to balance it out. Or maybe Basic Food Preparation because you know I could use it. Acting I, maybe. I do miss that. I guess I could take Spanish or French, considering how little I remember of them (muy poquito and tres peu, respectively, and I’m not even sure I spelled those correctly). Or Japanese or Russian or Italian so that I can say I speak smatterings of three languages instead of just two. Pfft. I should probably get to a point of fluency in one language - English not included - before I take on any more.
WHAT!!! They have a class called “Dinosaurs!” which a) completely just revealed my inner nerd and b) makes this a very hard decision. On the one hand, what use would a class about dinosaurs be to me? But on the other hand, who cares?
Let’s see what else they have… Hotel management classes - Front Office Procedures might come in handy someday. Color theory sounds interesting, and possibly practical. Oooh, Introduction to Green Design. Definitely interested in that. I wouldn’t be against taking an Eastern Religions class, considering that was one of my favorite parts of the intro to philosophy class I took one summer. Ah, psych classes… They make me miss my major. Human Sexuality would be at the top of that list. So would Psych of Personality and Abnormal Psych.
An intro to real estate might be interesting although I don’t think I would want to pursue real estate as a career. Hmm Beverage Management would come in handy in my personal life - “the selection of wines to enhance foods” would be a nifty thing to understand.
Well crap. This hasn’t helped me at all. Can I get a college degree in Things I Find Interesting?
